Travel Consultant - What will I be doing?

  • Your primary role is to sell specialist tours directly to the public and agents.
  • You are the first point of contact for the business.
  • You will be delivering the highest possible level of service at all times
  • You will be using your product knowledge to cross sell products
  • You will process amendments and deal with any issues.
  • There is an opportunity for you to attend travel exhibitions and road shows providing an excellent first impression of the business.
  • You will be supporting the rest of the team with its administration

Travel Consultant - What experience will I need ?

  • It is essential that you have worked in the travel industry selling holidays ideally for a tour operator or cruise operator
  • Ideally you will be used to working in the luxury market
  • It is essential that you are passionate about giving the customer the best possible level of service

Travel Consultant - What else do I need to know?

You will be working Monday to Friday 9 - 5.30 with Saturdays on a rota basis

    This is a wonderful opportunity to join an ambitious and successful specialist educational tour operator providing bespoke tailor made services to schools / colleges and universities. They are incredibly busy right now and are lookign for a Tour Consultant to help them create bespoke tours.

    Tour Consultant / Key Account Manager - What will I be doing?

    • You will be tailor making itineraries for educational settings in line with the course that their students are studying. Every tour is bespoke with each client having different needs
    • You will be generating accurate tour costings
    • Liaising with suppliers / colleagues to negotiate and confirm travel, accommodation and visit requirements
    • Ensuring all tours are completed within set budgets and client payments are received in the agreed time frames
    • You will develop "life-long" relationships with both client and supplier

    Tour Consultant / Key Account Manager - What experience do I need?

    • Ideally you will have an understanding of the needs of educational settings' trips with proven experience and full understanding of delivering exceptional customer service
    • Ideally advanced knowledge of the School Travel Market
    • Destination knowledge in particular Europe.
    • Ability to resolve problems, work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work as under own initiative, and essentially as part of a wider team
    • Analytical skills
    • IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft products
    • Ability to follow procedures and willingness to enhance them
    • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload and be highly organised
    • Commercial & financial awareness and be numerate
    • Adaptable and flexible

    Tour Consultant / Key Account Manager - Additional Information:
    This role is a Monday - Friday 9 - 5 role and can either be based in the office in Surrey / Greater London or can be remote for the right person. This is an incredible time to join the business as it builds back after the pandemic with enquiries being through the roof. You will have lots of opportunity to progress in the future.     Their office is in London, but they are happy for this person to be based from home if they live too far to commute everyday but being able to come in frequently would be good. The hours are between 08.30 - 6 on a shift basis with half a day at a weekend every other week but this will become less as the team grows. The salary is competitive, plus bonuses, 25 days holiday and a lovely supportive team.     It is essential that you are bilingual in English and Italian
    You must have outstanding customer service / sales skills - ideally within the travel industry but this is not essential.
    You will ideally have worked in a target driven, call centre environment previously where you are used to speaking to customers over the phone.
    It is a fast paced, targeted environment and must be someone who enjoys working in a driven team who has the needs of the customer at the heart of all they do.

    Reservations Coordinator - Italian Speaking - Additional Info

    The hours are on a shift system between 08.30am - 7pm and you must be able to work across weekends on a rota too.
