Medical Receptionist
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist, or someone with relevant experience from a different sector, to join a lovely Practice based in Dorking and to become part of a supportive and friendly team.
Medical Receptionist - What will I be doing?
As a Medical Receptionist, you will provide a point of contact for patients and support both the clinical teams and patients by making every effort to answer enquiries and queries as efficiently as possible. You will be required to facilitate effective communication between patients and the Primary Health Care Team and you'll also promote a positive image of the Practice to its patients and service users.
Medical Receptionist - What experience do I need?
Ensure efficiency of the appointment system and monitor flow of patients into consulting and treatment rooms
Ensure patients without appointments needing urgent treatment are dealt with sensitively whilst minimizing disruption to the surgery
Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to patients requiring medical services
Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts
Provide point of contact for queries concerning repeat prescriptions
Provide medical records to doctors when requested and update information as and when required
Prepare consulting rooms in readiness for each surgery
Respond to queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors
Record home visit requests and refer to the duty doctor when necessary
Receive and make calls on behalf of the practice
Action requests for ambulance transportation
Scanning and indexing of documents as well as general administrative duties
Monitor Practice email account and action all tasks sent to Reception
Secure premises at closure of surgery to include activation of alarm
Medical Receptionist - What else do I need to know?
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering a high level of service and who is able to work as part of a team across two separate receptions. The position is employed on a part-time basis and you'll be required to work 20.5 hours per week on various shifts; the Practice hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. There's plenty of on-the-job training offered and there's also subsidised parking.
