Senior Flights Executive - Blackpool
Are you an experienced travel professional with strong GDS, fares and ticketing knowledge? Do you enjoy coordinating complex travel arrangements, solving problems and making sure every detail is handled accurately?We are recruiting on behalf of an established educational travel company looking for a Senior Transport Executive to join its team. This is a varied role coordinating air, coach and rail arrangements for group tours and working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers.
This is a fully office-based position in Blackpool.
Senior Transport Executive - What will I be doing?
- Coordinating air, coach and rail arrangements for group tours.
- Sourcing competitive transport options and preparing accurate quotations.
- Securing and confirming bookings with airlines and other transport suppliers.
- Managing GDS queues, schedule changes and booking amendments.
- Processing and issuing airline tickets within the required deadlines.
- Ensuring all booking details and transport arrangements are accurate.
- Building strong working relationships with suppliers.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure each group's journey runs smoothly.
- Resolving problems calmly and efficiently when plans change.
Senior Transport Executive - What experience do I need?
- Previous experience working within the travel industry booking flights is essential.
- GDS experience using Amadeus, Galileo or Sabre is essential.
- Good fares and ticketing knowledge, including issuing airline tickets.
- Experience managing GDS queues and airline schedule changes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several bookings and deadlines at once.
- Confident communication skills and experience liaising with suppliers.
- A calm, organised approach to problem-solving.
- Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Previous group travel, school travel or tour operator experience would be particularly useful, as would knowledge of European and US destinations.
Senior Transport Executive - What else do I need to know?
- This role is fully office-based in Blackpool.
- You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Start and finish times can be 8am-4pm, 8.30am-4.30pm or 9am-5pm.
- Flexible working requests, including term-time arrangements, may also be considered.
