Head of People - shaping culture and creating a place people love to work
We're recruiting on behalf of a client that's setting a new standard in business travel - blending exceptional service with innovative technology and a genuine commitment to their people. They're looking for their first ever Head of People; someone who can bring structure, creativity, and heart to a growing organisation that already has a brilliant culture at its core.
This is a standout opportunity to build the People function from scratch, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to design how the business works, feels, and grows.
Head of People - what will I be doing?
- Leading all things people and culture, balancing the practical with the purposeful.
- Managing HR operations: contracts, offer letters, policies, and onboarding.
- Designing and embedding initiatives around wellbeing, reward, and recognition.
- Introducing new tools and systems to support performance, engagement, and visibility.
- Advising and supporting leaders on culture, structure, and change.
- Shaping the employer brand so that this business becomes known as a destination company where people want to stay and grow.
Head of People - what experience do I need?
- A strong HR background with experience managing the day-to-day, but with a real passion for culture, values, and people development.
- Confident working in a standalone role - able to handle the admin detail while contributing to strategic conversations.
- Up to date on UK employment law and happy to seek specialist advice when needed.
- A natural communicator who can build trust, influence leaders, and bring people together.
- You don't need to be qualified at a very senior CIPD level ( as long as you have the basics) - what matters most is energy, creativity, curiosity, and a people-first mindset.
Head of People - what else do I need to know?
This is already an exceptional team to be part of and the future looks even brighter- people love working here - they are valued and looked after and given the opportunity to excel. The offices offer an outstanding environment and this role is a very rare opportunity to create something from the ground up. They have ambitious plans for the future and you be a huge part of this.
Office-based in London.
Hours between: 08:30-18:00 (37.5 hours per week).
25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
Company pension scheme and Perkbox
Regular team treats and celebrations.
Salary is competitive, reflecting the scope and leadership responsibility of the role.
