An exciting opportunity awaits a Travel Consultant who is an expert in India to join our client, a well-established, family-owned tour operator with over 20 years of success. We're looking for someone with excellent destination knowledge of India (and ideally the wider Indian Ocean region), strong sales skills, and a genuine passion for creating bespoke travel experiences.

Travel Consultant - What will I be doing?

  • Responding to client enquiries via phone and email, offering tailored travel advice.
  • Designing bespoke itineraries and preparing detailed quotations using in-house systems.
  • Liaising with overseas partners to confirm availability, secure pricing, and finalise arrangements.
  • Managing the booking process from enquiry to post-travel follow-up, ensuring every detail runs smoothly.
  • Supporting the team with product development, website updates, and social media campaigns.
  • Participating in training and occasional promotional activities to enhance destination knowledge and brand visibility.

Travel Consultant - What experience do I need?

  • Previous experience selling India or Indian Ocean destinations for a tour operator is ideal however if you have travelled throughout the area and have sales experience in another industry we are also keen to talk to you. It is essential that you are passionate about this part of the world.
  • A proven sales track record with strong attention to detail and customer care.
  • Confident communication skills - both written and verbal - with a warm, professional manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple bookings and work both independently and collaboratively.

Travel Consultant - What else do I need to know?

You'll be joining a supportive, close-knit team where your passion for travel and exceptional customer service will shine. The role can be remote or hybrid, the office is based in the North East of England. Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. There is a competitive salary plus quarterly bonus with an OTE of c£35k - £45k
