Travel Consultant - £26,000 plus bonuses

This independent, family-owned travel agency who specialise in luxury tailor-made holidays are looking for a Travel Consultant to join their friendly team. They pride themselves on first class service and going the extra mile for customers meaning they have a large repeat client base. As a Travel Consultant you will be working in new, beautiful offices and offered an excellent salary and incentives as well as the opportunity to travel on luxury long-haul familiarisation trips.

Travel Consultant Responsibilities:

• Providing outstanding customer service when handling face to face and telephone travel enquiries.
• Booking travel arrangements for clients - both overseas and in the UK.
• Liaising with tour operators, both mainstream and specialist operators who offer bespoke worldwide itineraries.
• Establishing excellent relationships with clients and ensuring holidays recommended are within their budget and specification.
• Attending product trainings with tour operators and other suppliers as well as overseas familiarisation trips.

Travel Consultant Skills Required:

• Proven experience in a retail travel environment.
• Experience of using tour operator reservations systems is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor holidays to a client's needs.
• Ability to display point of sale and marketing materials creatively.
• Good worldwide destination knowledge with a genuine passion for travel.

Travel Consultant Additional Information:
Monday - Friday 9.30am - 5.00pm with 1 or 2 Saturdays a month on a rota basis.
As well as a competitive salary of £26,000 there is the opportunity to earn incentive payments and bonuses. Staff benefits include 29 days holiday (plus bank holidays), company pension scheme, personal travel discounts, familiarisation trips. Previously, successful candidates have come from a Travel Consultant, Travel Agent, Travel Advisor or Luxury Travel Consultant position.
